I wish expecting/wanting something so un-natural was a fade. Great cartoon. Isn't it ironic how nurturing our kids encourages the very thing these people want? Our kids reach that independence in due time (all to quick as you pointed out here) when they are ready, while their kids fight it like bulls, crying at the notion that mommy will give in and hold them tonight. If we did what they did, this time would last longer. I love co-sleeping with my daughter, perhaps to ensure it will last beyond her 4th year I'll abandon her to her own self soothing devices in a separate room for a few weeks...nah, I can live with 2 1/2 years of her life being slept with me. I'll miss her, but I can deal. x')
Yes! So ironic that allowing your baby to depend on you while they still need to is what helps them to become independent later on! It makes perfect since when you think about it, they feel safe and secure and therefore grow confidence!
I am a stay-at-home mom from New York and a mother of two beautiful children aged 2 years and 4 months. It is my passion to spread the word about the benefits of breastfeeding, dangers of formula, joys of co-sleeping, and to debunk the myths regarding infant circumcision.
Love it Jess! cute characters, can't wait to see more.
